Why choose the Toyota Corolla?
The Toyota Corolla is one of the world’s best-selling cars, renowned for its reliability, efficiency and practicality. Reintroduced to the UK market in 2019 as a replacement for the Auris, the Corolla is available as a hatchback, saloon and estate (Touring Sports) for a variety of drivers.
Built on Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, the latest Corolla features a sleek, modern design with sharp LED headlights, a bold front grille and sculpted bodywork. The interior offers a well-finished cabin, with high-quality materials and a user-friendly layout. A central 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes as standard, along with a digital driver display on higher trims. Passenger space is good and the boot capacity varies depending on the body style: 361 litres for the hatchback, 598 litres for the estate and 471 litres for the saloon.
The Corolla is available exclusively as a self-charging hybrid, offering 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre petrol-electric powertrains. The 1.8-litre hybrid delivers 138bhp and focuses on efficiency, returning up to 64mpg. The 2.0-litre hybrid, with 193bhp, offers stronger performance while still achieving around 50-55mpg. Both are paired with an e-CVT automatic gearbox, making them smooth and easy to drive, especially in urban environments. Toyota’s hybrid technology allows for short bursts of electric-only driving, reducing emissions and improving fuel economy.
