The Volkswagen Touareg was a joint venture project developed by Volkswagen Group, Audi and Porsche, and the idea was to create a car that could be used as an off-road vehicle but one that could be handled like a sports car. In 2010, Volkswagen announced the introduction of the second generation Touareg which came with completely redesigned bodywork and a 5 percent increase in torsional rigidity, as well as being 208 kg lighter than the first-generation model. Then again, in 2014, the second-generation Volkswagen Touareg received a facelift in the shape of revised bumpers and grilles, new alloy wheel designs, new exterior colours, and bi-xenon headlamps. Inside, the front seats were updated to have standard lumbar support along with an automatic post-collision braking system, white controls illumination, chrome accents, and optional features like Nappa leather upholstery and wood trimmings.
