The Audi A3 Sportback has a practical, 5-door hatchback design whilst the styling has been focused to create a sporty and athletic look. The new A3 perfectly combines both aspects, resulting in the absolute best of both.
The brand-new hexagonal, frameless Singleframe is flatter and wider than before and is the focal point of the front design. In combination with the large angular side air intakes, the face of the new A3 symbolizes the sporty character. The rear design has also been updated with a new bumper and distinctive diffuser. Brand-new technology has been included to switch between different digital daytime running light signatures via the MMI. There is a choice between two designs with the LED headlights and four with the Matrix LED headlights.
The interior has created the same premium feeling, it is spacious and refined with driver-oriented tech features.
The flawless interior design features sleek detailing. The A3 Sportback sets a new benchmark for interior design and quality. The 3-zone electronic climate control offers extra levels of comfort by allowing different temperature areas for the driver and front passenger. The LED ambient lighting has been updated to create a visually appealing atmosphere, with the S line trim, you are able to further customise the space with multi-coloured ambient lighting.
Heated front sports seats ensure that any drive is comfortable. The seats also feature electric lumbar support and are finished in the twin leather with an S embossed logo with the S line trim.
The new A3 Sportback offers increased space and functionality, combined with compact external dimensions. There is plenty of space for 5 passengers to sit comfortably and ISOFIX child seat mounting as also been included. The boot has a large capacity of 380 litres which is impressive for a car of this size.
The most recent iteration of the infotainment system sits at the core of A3 Sportback’s inbuilt technology, packing a stronger processing punch than its predecessors. The robust MMI Navigation Plus, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Audi Connect Plus are all perfectly presented on a 10.1" touchscreen display.
The driver-centric Virtual Cockpit display, positioned just behind the steering wheel, complements the MMI display by offering a glance at the navigation, entertainment, and vehicle data right in your line of sight.

The moment everyone has been waiting for has finally arrived! Audi has revealed the details of the Audi A3 facelift, three and a half years after its initial market launch. Both the A3 Sportback and A3 Saloon have undergone an impressive makeover, boasting designs that are both innovative and elegant.
At first glance, you'll notice the fresh updates on the exterior. The front now sports a newly shaped single-frame grille that is flatter and wider than its predecessor. S-line exterior on the district green A3 Sportback brings a dash of the RS 3 vibes, while the A3 Saloon showcases a bold progressive red hue. The rear too has been redesigned, adding new bumpers and an impressive diffuser for the S-line package.
What really sets the updated A3 apart are the new daytime running light signatures, which now give you the ability to select and switch between up to four different digital signatures in the MMI. The coming-home/leaving-home lights have been customized as well for each signature.
Inside, the changes are equally striking. Audi has revamped the centre console, air vents, and the gear selector lever, taking your driving experience to a whole new level. Standard equipment now includes a multifunction leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, and an adjustable centre armrest at the front.
One of the most dazzling new features is the large illuminated area on the front door - a first-class design element achieved by lasering the fabric panel 300 times. This light source dynamically backlights five segments when the doors are opened and closed.
The A3 now boasts a 3D sound system from Sonos, along with two new decorative inlays. One made entirely from recycled polyester and the other in Dinamica microfibre material. The latter, also available as a seat cover, is designed to feel like suede while being eco-friendly.
The digital sphere has not been overlooked either. Alongside the digital radio and the 10.1-inch infotainment display, Audi has incorporated the Audi Virtual Cockpit and an inductive charging option for smartphones. We now see two USB-C charging ports in the centre console and an additional two in the rear.
With a surcharge, you can also have access to the MMI Navigation Plus, including access to the app store for using applications directly on the vehicle display and via voice commands. Amazon Alexa is also now a standard feature.
When it comes to the engine, initially, the A3s will be available with the 150 PS 1.5-litre petrol engine (35 TFSI) and the 2.0-litre diesel engine (35 TDI), each with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be available for the petrol engine. Additional combustion-only variants and a plug-in hybrid are scheduled to arrive later in 2024.
Audi has truly gone above and beyond with this new facelift, offering a captivating mix of style, functionality, and state-of-the-art technology. We can't wait for you to experience the new Audi A3 Sportback and Saloon!
Stay tuned for more updates, as the UK ordering begins this April.
As we’ve already mentioned, the new A3 is underpinning by a brand new platform. This not only gives it more interior space than before, but also means that it's ready for more electrified powertrains in the future - something Audi is very keen on doing. We’ve also got an updated look that builds on the appearance of the previous generation car, while the A3’s interior has been given a variety of cutting-edge screens.
You’ve got a wide variety of engines to choose from with the A3, ranging from compact petrol and diesels right the way through to ultra-efficient plug-in hybrids. A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol will no doubt prove the right choice for many, while a 2.0-litre diesel will be the go-to option for long-distance drivers. The plug-in hybrid, meanwhile, combines a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and batteries for rock-bottom fuel costs.
Audi has really upped the refinement for the latest A3, meaning that it feels even more comfortable and relaxing to drive than before. Of course, opt for larger wheels and the ride can be made to feel a tough fidgety, but for the most part, it’s relaxed and comfortable. The steering is relatively accurate, too, ensuring that you can place the car just where you want it. Though many models are solely front-wheel-drive, there’s plenty of traction too.
The new A3 is immediately recognisable as an Audi, but it’s a far classier affair than its predecessor thanks to a variety of chrome elements and sharply designed head and tailights. The Sportback looks particularly distinctive, while a range of bright colours can help to make it stand out even further. It’s certainly a well-executed design and one which ties the A3 into the rest of the Audi line-up well.
As we’ve already mentioned, the new A3 benefits from a completely redesigned cabin which affords its occupants’ plenty of space. Those sitting in the back get a good degree of leg and headroom, while those up front have a clear and open view of the area ahead of them. When it comes to boot space, there’s a healthy 380 litres to play with in the A3 Sportback and this can be extended further by lowering the rear seats down.
Standard equipment on theA3 Sportback is impressive, to say the least. All cars benefit from a 10.1-inch central infotainment screen which houses all of your main media and navigation functions. This is then backed by a digital instrument binnacle which can be optionally upgraded to Audi’s full virtual cockpit. All cars also get both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing for quick and easy integration of your smartphone into the car’s system.
Audi had quite a job on its hands of replacing the ever-popular A3, but it appears to have hit the nail on the head with this latest version. It’s more refined than before with a good variety of engines to choose from, while the interior feels even more premium than the one found in its predecessor. Certainly as a car for all occasions, the A3 makes a very solid case for itself.
