The disc-spring mattress is super comfortable, with storage space underneath the bed, plus a panoramic sunroof to give you unobstructed views of the sky in the day and stars at night. You can create your perfect atmosphere with privacy blinds and adjustable lighting, whether you’re ready for a cosy night in with dimmed lights, or a bit of extra visibility when it goes dark to read your book, the Caddy California is ready for your every mood.
Innovative technology
The screen features Total Clarity Digital Displays keeping you connected, the new infotainment system lets you pick between a “Composition Colour” system with an 10 inch touchscreen, or the more advanced “Discover” navigation system with a high-definition 10-inch display. This allows you to browse radio stations, take calls, enter destinations access We Connect and streaming services, plus control your air conditioning with the intuitive touchscreen or voice commands.
Showcasing some of Volkswagen’s most advanced Driver Assist systems, the new Caddy California gives you confidence on the road:
- Trailer Assist - This system automatically manoeuvres the vehicle and trailer during parallel and reverse parking, only when in combination with towbar preparation or removeable and lockable towbar.
- Adaptive Cruise Control - This system uses a front radar to measure the distance and speed relative to vehicles driving ahead, up to 120 metres. It automatically regulates the pre-set distance. ACC includes the Front Assist.
- Front Assist with pedestrian monitoring and city emergency braking system - This system detects cyclists, pedestrians and other vehicles in which direction you are travelling, it alerts the driver of hazardous situations. Front Assist can prevent the driver from becoming in a critical driving situation because if the driver doesn’t respond in time then the system responds with automatic emergency braking and impressively can perform an evasive manoeuvre.
- Parking Sensors with Park Assist - This system monitors the vehicles sides and alerts you with audible and visual warning if you get too close to other vehicles, objects or pedestrians.
- Emergency Assist - This system enhances safety when the driver is incapacitated. It initially reacts with inactivity by emitting a warning tone, vibrating and then performing a safe braking manoeuvre.
Striking design
A stunning front end design can be found with honeycomb front air intake, clear, dynamic lines and improved efficiency. The Caddy California comes in both a short and long wheelbase, offering an extra 353mm in length allowing for an addition space you may need. An array of colour choices which consists of solid, metallic and peal effect paint finishes giving you a choice of 12 colour options. The striking design is complemented by the impressive alloy wheel designs which comes in 5 options!
Power and efficiency
With a choice of diesel and petrol engines available you can choose the power you need! Three engine choices available; a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with 114 PS, which has both a manual and DSG gearbox option, a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, available in 102 PS manual or 122 PS DSG variants.
The automatic Caddy California which is fitted with a dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) allows for smooth gear changes, adapting to the drivers driving style without interruption of tractive power. Paddle switches can be found on the steering wheel giving you the option to shift down and up.
