The ID.4 GTX has a spacious interior with red stylish seams which can be found on the seats, dash and in the front doors. The front panel trim combined with the GTX lettering on the steering wheel entering you into the new generation of sporty electric mobility.
The most dominant feature of the interior is its 12-inch infotainment touchscreen which sits in the centre of the dashboard, while ahead of the driver the traditional instrument binnacle makes way for a digital driver’s display. Also featured is VW’s ID Light tech, which has a unitary LED running the full-width of the dash and lights up in areas to coordinate with the sat nav or the car’s charging status. The GTX elements include black leather seats with red stitching and details, along with GTX logos embossed into the head rests.
At first glance the ID.4 GTX doesn’t look monumentally different from the standard ID.4, save for its 20-inch alloy wheels. Look more closely and you’ll notice restyled front and rear bumpers, subtle badges and a GTX logo on the tailgate. It’s typically Volkswagen in that the sporty look is present, but not overtly done.
The ID.4 GTX has an optional electric fold-out trailer towing coupling which is designed for loads up to 1,200kg which is because of the all-wheel drive.
There’s a fair bit of tech on the ID.4 GTX. As standard, it gets a 12-inch infotainment system and an augmented reality head-up display fitted, which works with the apps built into the core central display. The exterior, meanwhile, gets Matrix LED headlights with Full Beam Assist and VW Group’s smart scrolling indicators. The GTX Max is a steep step up at £55,540 but you do get all of the ID.4’s option packs fitted. These include a panoramic sunroof, triple-zone climate control and a host of safety features via the Assistance Package Plus suite of tech, along with Adaptive Suspension.
